Marrakech is a vibrant city located in the northwest corner of Africa, situated in the center of the fertile Haouz Plain and south of the Tennsift River. Its rich history dates back over 1,000 years when the sultans ruled over the walled city. Known for its colorful souks and local spices, the exotic essence of Marrakesh is captured in its fresh mint tea, the smell of herbal shops, and the spice towers beside carpet-covered walls of the pastel pink medina. Marrakech is also known as the city of luxury, prized for its famous palaces, 5-star restaurants, boutique hotels, luxurious spas and hammams, and enchanting riads (traditional houses) in the medina. You will undoubtedly experience a feast for the senses with an impressive array of aromas wafting from the cafés, restaurants and food stalls around the ancient city, the souks, and Jemaa El Fnaa square. With its rich history and culture, charming marketplaces, and beautiful gardens, there is no shortage of vibrancy or magic in this city.
Bab Doukala neighborhood where we are staying is very multi-cultural yet very attached to its traditions and native way of living, also a safe and friendly neighborhood with a lot of interesting things to see and experience from galleries and big Bazars to some great restaurants. We have one night to explore dinner out of the riad.
Note: we are including a private half-day guided tour through Marrakech early in the retreat so you can feel comfortable exploring the city on your own.

Kelly found Iyengar yoga when she worked at a magic circle law firm and it served her as a recovery tool from a cycling injury and she has been practising for over 15 years. The transformational aspect of Iyengar yoga encouraged her to spend six years training to qualify as an Iyengar Yoga teacher and spending time in India with the Iyengar Yoga family.
Kelly is passionate about alignment using props to emphasise the benefits of alignment. In her classes you can expect clear demonstrations and precise instructions. Kelly loves to travel, teaching retreats across europe and this will be her second one in Marrakesh. Kelly likes to add fun and creativity in her teaching, encouraging people to challenge themselves whilst also giving them space to relax from their hectic lives.
